Learners will be given the opportunity to have a work placement in a sporting or leisure environment - this could be a leisure centre, fitness club, gym etc. they will take part in work experience for between one and four days per week. As a consequence of the increased focus on sport and physically active lifestyles there has been an increase in career opportunities for suitably qualified Sport and Exercise Science graduates. This degree is designed to develop graduates who have the underlying scientific theory and practical skills required to work in a real world context. The course provides students with the skills required to assess the strengths and weaknesses of a range of client groups from a multidisciplinary sport science perspective. This involves profiling the physiological, psychological and biomechanical characteristics of sport performance and health related activity to facilitate design of appropriate interventions
